We are seeking an Assistant Underwriter with experience in underwriting or broking and an interest in portfolio deals to join our team in London. As part of the Differentiated Underwriting (DU) portfolio, this role will involve supporting the strategic management of the portfolio, including client profitability, client fit within the portfolio, optimisation of capital modelling for portfolio analysis and development, and day-to-day account handling. In addition to portfolio analysis, the role will involve some traditional underwriting, making it a "hybrid" position.
Responsibilities include ensuring the in-force portfolio is performing as planned, managing reporting and presentations for DU, assisting with ongoing queries and binding of deals, liaising with credit control and accumulation management teams, conducting technical or market analysis for DU deals, and engaging with various stakeholders as required.
The successful candidate should have excellent analytical and numerical abilities, a close attention to detail, knowledge of the London market, the ability to prioritise workload, work effectively within a team and on an individual basis, and well-developed social and communication skills. Progress towards completion of the ACII qualification and a good understanding of Microsoft Office Suite with a strong focus on Excel is also required.
