Arthur has partnered with a leading insurer on the search for a catastrophe analyst to join a modelling team based in London.
This is an excellent opportunity for the candidate to enhance their knowledge and understanding of Catastrophe Modelling within an insurance operation and to work closely with underwriting teams across London, Europe, and the US by providing analytics to support underwriting decisions.
Responsibilities include completion and management of monthly roll-up process across multiple lines of business, pre-modelling of underwriting submissions for Property, Energy, Marine, and other lines as per business needs, assisting with the modelling of complex accounts, involvement in the development of automated cat modelling tools, regulatory returns, providing support to junior members of the team, ad hoc projects, interpreting slips, ensuring completeness of data, and liaising with brokers and other parties to supplement as necessary.
The ideal candidate should have experience in cat modelling, preferably in an insurance environment, strong experience and knowledge of the RMS detailed loss modelling platform, competence in SQL and VBA with proven experience in building reporting tools, knowledge of programming languages such as R, Python, C#, and GIS tools. Additionally, strong numerical data handling and analysis skills, ability to understand and communicate technical concepts, ability to work effectively individually and as part of a team, and strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
