Arthur has partnered with a leading global insurer in their search for a Catastrophe Modelling Analyst to join their London team.

As Catastrophe Analyst, you will be responsible for the conducting, recording and modelling of exposure information. You will liaise with the underwriters with allocated portfolios to lead the aggregation service, as well as supporting the senior team within systems monitering and improving data quality. You will be working with classes modelling within RMS and AIR and learn how to best use catastrophe models. Using your exceptional technical skills within SQL, R and VBA, you will help the Exposure Management team support the underwriting teams with modelling analysis for business and risk decision making. As a sucessful candidate, you must have previous working knowledge of Cat Models and Aggregation tools. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Underwriting team in managing the quoting and data cleansing process for your assigned classes of business. 
  • Support the senior team in accurately recording and maintaining policy and exposure information in accumulation systems. Continuously monitor, maintain, and enhance data quality.
  • Assist the team in various tasks related to exposure management projects.
  • Utilize AIR software to model risks on behalf of Underwriters. 
  • Take the lead in addressing queries from outsourcing partners regarding data cleansing assumptions for aggregation and modeling. Take ownership of complex accounts when necessary.
  • Provide validated model outputs that meet internal and external regulatory requirements for submissions.
  • Gain knowledge about classes modeled in RMS and AIR, and understand how to effectively utilize catastrophe models.
