Arthur have partnered with a multinational Reinsurer to hire a Catastrophe Risk Analyst to join their London team.
In this role, you will be analysing large and complex data to assess catastrophic risks for both global natural and man-made events.
Your responsibilities:
Manage and analyse complex datasets, utilising accumulation and catastrophe models to assess and explain potential catastrophe risks.
Present and communicate catastrophe model findings to underwriting teams, investigating year-on-year changes and the factors influencing them.
Use catastrophe modelling software, including utilising SQL to query exposure and result databases.
Assist in improving exposure management practices, including automating processes when possible.
Support the development of innovative analytical solutions to help underwriting teams quantify catastrophe risks.
Evaluate and monitor the entire lifecycle of proposed and underwritten exposures, from data input to assessment and reporting.
Aid in post-event analytics and loss estimation for global natural and non-natural events.
Assist in validating third-party catastrophe models.
Supporting the wider team.
This ideal candidate will be educated to degree level within Mathematics, Science or Earth Sciences, as well as having strong analytical and technical skills. SQL, Python, VBA or other programming skills are an advantage.
