Our client is seeking a dynamic and visionary Chief Risk Officer to lead their Risk Management team and ensure the organisation thrives in a risk-conscious environment.
As the Chief Risk Officer, you will play a pivotal role in their success story by seamlessly integrating the Risk function into their strategic business decisions. Your expertise will be critical in developing and maintaining the Risk framework in alignment with Solvency II standards. Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with senior management to craft and implement a risk-based strategy that fosters sustained profitability.
Work closely with the capital team to weave the risk management framework into the internal capital model and business planning process.
Elevate the risk management framework, enhancing elements such as risk assessment processes.
Provide a robust challenge to assumptions, internal and external assessments, in line with the ORSA and Solvency II requirements.
Ensure compliance with all pertinent UK and International regulatory obligations, encompassing prudent business management, customer interests, and regulatory mandates.
Foster a culture of risk consciousness, embedding risk management into daily responsibilities, and actively participating in risk management activities.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities:
Proficient in articulating and gaining executive buy-in for risk-related strategies.
Excellent communication skills for engaging a diverse array of stakeholders, both internal and external, including regulators.
Strong organisational aptitude to manage complex risk management frameworks.
Exceptional team management skills, enabling you to lead and motivate your team effectively.
Adept in presenting complex risk concepts with clarity and conviction.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey risk insights.
Previous experience within the London market is highly desirable.
Membership in relevant committees (Risk & Capital, ExCo) and attendee of the UK Subsidiary Board is advantageous.
