Here at Arthur, we are excited to be partnered with a highly successful and rapidly growing healthcare liability insurer who are looking to bring on board Medical Malpractice/Healthcare Claims Adjuster who will focus on Casualty claims within their growing team in London.
 
You will oversee a caseload of medical malpractice claims originating from diverse global territories. With assistance from the Senior Technical Claims Specialist, Senior Claims Handler, and the broader claims management team, you will ensure that claims are effectively monitored and handled efficiently, considering commercial, reputational, regulatory, and policy implications.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a portfolio of medical malpractice claims, notifications, and regulatory healthcare matters in line with the company Claims Manual and regulatory standards.
  • Proactively investigate and manage claims from initial notice through resolution, including coverage determination, liability analysis, quantum assessment, and strategy development.
  • Ensure adequate reserving in accordance with the company Reserving Philosophy.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including underwriters, brokers, solicitors, and TPAs, to enhance organizational performance and deliver optimal service to our insured clients.
  • Negotiate claim settlements in conjunction with appointed experts.
  • Assist with the training and development of other team members.

What You Need:

  • Experience handling casualty claims, preferably in healthcare would be a huge bonus, across different locations (experience in the UK and Ireland is a plus).
  • Have relevant insurance qualification or be willing to take qualifying exams (ACII / FCII)
  • Knowledge of London Market systems like ECF and operating protocols is helpful.
  • Understanding of general insurance principles and practices.
  • Interest in continuous professional and personal growth.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and organizational abilities.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, especially Word and Excel.
