A Lloyd’s syndicate are looking for a Data Governance Lead to join the team focusing on enhancing data governance and management practices.
 
Responsibilities of the Data Governance Lead:

  • Develop and enact a comprehensive data governance framework.
  • Establish, implement, and uphold data governance policies and protocols.
  • Collaborate with data owners and stewards to define and enforce data quality benchmarks, monitoring, and enhancement processes.
  • Identify and designate data stewards while providing necessary guidance and support.
  • Create and maintain a thorough data catalog, taxonomy, and documentation of data lineage.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure alignment between data governance practices and the company's data strategy and infrastructure.
  • Champion data governance best practices and lead initiatives to bolster data-informed decision-making.
  • Provide senior leadership with progress reports on data governance initiatives.
  • Design and deliver training and awareness programs to promote organizational adherence to data governance principles.

 
Essential skills of the Data Governance Lead:

  • At least 5 years of experience in data governance, data management, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in data governance methodologies, demonstrated by experience implementing policies and procedures in regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with data management technologies such as data catalogues, data lineage, and data quality tools.
  • Strong track record of managing relationships with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, bridging communication between data teams and business units.

 
Desirable skills of the Data Governance Lead:

  • Experience working in the Insurance industry, particularly within the Lloyd's market.
  • Experience working in Agile environments and familiarity with Scrum methodologies, particularly within a data context.

 
Salary: £100,000 - £110,000 per annum
Location: Central London, EC3A / WFH hybrid
Start Date: ASAP, 3 months notice periods considered
