Lloyd’s Syndicate - City of London

A reputable Lloyd's syndicate is seeking a junior actuarial analyst to join their actuarial team based in the City of London. Their team is in a period of growth, and this is a new role created to provide additional actuarial support to meet the growing needs of the syndicate.

The successful applicant will assist in quarterly reserving for the syndicate, and parametrisation of the syndicate’s internal model. You will also develop strong working relationships with the underwriting team and utilise knowledge of the market to successfully adapt pricing techniques.

The ideal candidate will experience as an actuarial analyst in the Lloyd’s and/or London market. Candidates outside the London market, including strong graduates will be considered. The desirable candidate will be a part qualified actuary and have the desire to continue the IFoA exams (a competitive study package is offered). A candidate with proficiency in R and/or Python is desirable.
 
Responsibilities:

• Assist with the parameterisation of the Syndicate’s internal model.
• Support quarterly reserving for the Syndicate.
• Build effective working relationships with co-workers in the Actuarial and Underwriting teams.
• Utilise knowledge of the market to successfully adapt pricing techniques.
• Ability to simply complex topics and communicate findings to colleagues and senior stakeholders.

 
From you they are looking:

• Any progression through the IFoA exams.
• A numerate degree achieving a 2:1 or higher.
• Proficiency in R and/or Python is desirable.
• Good analytical and problem solving ability.
