Key Responsibilities As a Senior Contract Wordings Specialist, you will play a crucial role in shaping the insurance products and ensuring that the contract wordings are of the highest quality. Here's what you'll be doing:
Review, draft, and negotiate contract wordings and supporting documentation to ensure clear and comprehensive coverage for our clients.
Collaborate with Underwriters, Business Group Leaders, Legal, and other internal and external stakeholders to enhance our insurance products.
Implement standard clause guidelines across the company to meet market requirements and align with our risk appetite and strategy.
Share your expertise by delivering internal presentations, workshops, and training sessions. Mentor and support junior underwriters in contract wording matters.
Foster effective communication and cooperation with various departments, such as claims, legal, finance, compliance, and operations.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and regulations through client and market visits, and actively contribute to company requirements.
Explore innovative technologies to streamline team workflow, track contract trends, and improve reporting capabilities.
Conduct research on insurance/reinsurance rulings, legal, and emerging issues, modifying or creating new wordings as needed.
Actively participate in internal workstreams and projects to elevate standards and risk controls.
Collaborate with external working parties, market bodies, and peers to maintain our commitment to excellence.
Essential Skills & Requirements: We are looking for a talented individual with the following qualifications:
Minimum 5 years' experience in contract wordings or as a qualified solicitor, preferably in (re)insurance, broking, or legal environment.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to identify, analyze, and make sound decisions.
Enthusiasm and willingness to challenge the status quo, both internally and externally.
Excellent negotiation and influencing skills, coupled with the ability to articulate opinions while considering the commercial environment.
Flexible approach to work, adept at planning, prioritizing, and managing workload during peak renewal periods.
