Senior Data Engineer

Salary: £85,000 - £90,000 per annum, Location: London, EC3/HybridAn insurer with a global presence in London is seeking to hire a Senior Data Engineer to join their Analytics and Business Intelligence team on a permanent basis in their London office. As a Senior Data Engineer, you’ll collaborate closely with product owners and data scientists to provide professional and comprehensive support and development, with the ability to construct or maintain the designated solution or project according to departmental needs.

The ideal candidate for this role will possess a background in Data Engineering and have prior experience in delivering data solutions using Azure services such as SQL, ADF, Spark, and Databricks. The role demands a hands-on approach, as well as the ability to review and design solutions, ensure adherence to best practices and provide assurance on the development approach.
 
The following qualifications are essential for success in this position:

• Prior experience in a Data Engineering or similar role
• Extensive exposure to SQL, Python (Spark), and Databricks Delta Lake
• Hands-on experience with insurance industry data
• Familiarity with data tools such as ADF, Python, Analysis Services (DAX) and SQL
• Familiarity with Azure platform architecture and experience building data pipelines
