Senior Database Architect

Arthur are delighted to be partnered with a London Market Speciality Insurer who are seeking a Senior Database Architect to join their dynamic team. We're seeking an expert to provide architectural oversight and technical prowess for enterprise SQL and Oracle environments. You'll be the visionary behind database solutions, collaborating closely with our Managed Services Database Team to ensure seamless operations.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement database infrastructure solutions from conception to execution.
• Automate and streamline processes, fostering efficiency and self-service capabilities.
• Foster positive relationships with various data providers and application support teams.
• Identify and resolve operational bottlenecks, standardizing procedures for optimal performance.
• Evaluate and recommend new software solutions, ensuring compliance with existing standards.
• Drive Azure provisioning efforts, ensuring rapid database deployment.
• Proactively monitor and maintain database performance and availability.

Requirements:

• Microsoft or Oracle certification preferred, with ITIL certification or experience as a bonus.
• Proven experience in project delivery and migrating database systems to Microsoft Azure.
• Proficiency in Microsoft SQL and Oracle RDBMS, with exposure to SSRS, SSIS, and SSAS.
• Solid understanding of RDBMS architecture and backup/restore processes.
• Willingness to participate in after-hours critical production support when necessary.
