A leading personal lines insurer is seeking a Senior Pricing Analyst to join their Pricing Research & Development (R&D) Team. In this exciting role, you will be instrumental in driving innovation across the company by using machine learning techniques and insurance market knowledge to develop and implement price optimization across our Motor and Home insurance product range. You will have the opportunity to work on major projects that will help shape the insurance landscape of the future.
 
Responsibilities:

  • Carry out and deliver pricing analysis, interpret output, and communicate results to a technical and non-technical audience.
  • Review junior team members’ work, provide feedback, and suggest improvements
  • Work collaboratively with various stakeholders to achieve an understanding of their needs, data requirements, and expected modelling outcomes
  • Continually improve data and end-to-end delivery processes
  • Ensure customer impacts are considered when proposing pricing changes and appropriately document work for implementation and future reference

 
Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge and experience of using statistical methods, predictive models, and machine learning techniques to achieve business objectives
  • Experience using a programming language such as Python or R to analyze data and create predictive models, preferably in a team environment
  • Excellent data handling skills, such as producing summary statistics, transformations, and visualizations
  • A passion for sharing technical knowledge in an informative and engaging way to support and mentor junior colleagues across Pricing

 
Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Knowledge of price optimization and the regulatory environment
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the principles of insurance and factors that contribute to setting the price of a policy
  • Experience of development tools to enable teamwork and model deployment, e.g. Git for version control, a package manager such as conda, Azure DevOps, and other relevant Azure services
  • Experience of a data manipulation software tool such as SAS, SQL, or DataBricks
  • Solid experience with Willis Towers Watson software such as Radar Base, Optimizer, and Emblem
